Today I decided to make it to the south western most part of the Australian main land, and I did!
There are a lot of towns and roads and stuff along the southern end here that have names ending with up, then inland a bit there are a lot of rocks, and everything over here is Great, and as you travel a bit further north there's lots of towns ending with ing, and then ong! Great eastern highway, Great western highway, Great rock, Greatup and it is a really Great place to visit!!!
Along some of the roads there are these Great big water pipes and I thought it was amusing to see these taps with little pipes heading to each property, it just looks funny.... but Great!
There's been a lot of rain over here these last 5 days making back roads inaccessible, which is unfortunate as I like getting off the track. However I did find a nice country drive or 2 that were paved.... very pretty countryside.
I arrived at Augusta this morning. Such a lovely place on the south west corner of our amazingly Great continent!
Determined to stand on the south western most point in Australia (continental) I arrived at Leeuwin lighthouse. A very Great place and still operational. All restored and maintained by local volunteers, and a Great job they've done, and are doing... So I had lunch here!
Looking east from the south western point in Oz.
Looking south... nothing there but Antarctica. Great!
That rock is as far south west as you can get!!!!!!!! I didn't get there as a) the water was way too cold to swim and b) I didn't have a boat.
And this is me.. as south west as I can get without getting very wet!
Sign says it all...
and this is the cow!
looking back at the lighthouse....
Margaret River... A really Great town, kinda like Melany, only further west. Lots of little arty shops selling local produce. Very scenic also and the walks around the river were beautiful.
Geographe Bay.... at Busselton.
Busselton Beach, with accompanying sea weed.
This is one beach strip without lots of motels along the esplanade... except this one! so I am staying here tonight!! Lovely....................
666Km

What a lovely spot to stay.... Shame it's too cold to swim.
